Laptops vs desktops: What makes the most sense for your business?
Laptops vs. desktops. What makes the most sense for your business?
Many companies have shifted to a hybrid or fully remote workforce. This change has made laptops a popular choice because they’re easy to move from location to location.
They’re perfect for flexible work arrangements, and with built-in webcams, they’re great for virtual meetings on platforms like Microsoft Teams.
Plus, docking stations make it super easy to plug and go, whether you’re in the office or at home.
However, laptops do have their downsides.
Some models, like Microsoft Surfaces and MacBooks, have limited upgrade options. They also tend to be pricier, with standard office use models around $1,200.
On the other hand, desktops are a solid choice if your team is in the office most of the time.
They offer better processing power at a lower cost, making them ideal for power users who need high-end graphics for tasks like AutoCAD.
Desktops are also easier to upgrade, providing long-term flexibility. But remember, you’ll need to budget for additional peripherals like monitors, keyboards, and mice.
In the end, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
While we see a lot of our customers at Copeland Technology Solutions moving towards laptops, desktops still have their place, especially for stationary, high-performance needs.
